The North Muskegon Fire Department is on duty 24 hours a day. NMFD is a member of the Muskegon County Hazardous Materials Team, and has access to up-to-date equipment for fire and other emergencies.
In an emergency requiring fire or other emergency services, dial central dispatch at 911.
Business Hours and Staff
Our fire station is manned Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, except holidays. At all other times, paid on-call personnel to respond to emergencies.
The North Muskegon Fire Department is a combination department with a single fire station and employs one full time Fire Chief / Fire Marshal, with 12 paid on-call firefighters-Medical First Responders. Ice rescue is our specialty, with over 200 persons rescued in our surrounding waters using our hovercraft. The Department responds to an average of 385 incidents per year and conducts six hours of training per month.
