The duties of the Recreation Board are as follows:
- To make a study of the recreational needs and facilities of the city;
- To formulate an overall plan concerning the city’s recreational program;
- To add to and amend the Park and Recreation Plan from time to time as circumstances require;
- To make recommendations to the City Council for the adoption and furtherance of the plan or any parts thereof;
- To make recommendations to the City Council for the procurement and maintenance of recreational facilities, parks and playgrounds;
- To make further recommendations to the City Council concerning the procurement and compensation of personnel necessary to carry out the city’s recreational program;
- To be responsible to the mayor and city council for the carrying out of all policies and plans adopted by the city council concerning the city’s recreational program
